Dr. George Marquis
Dr. George Marquis is a 1980 graduate of Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. He is a native of Madawaska, Maine, and did his undergraduate study at the University of Maine at Orono. George is a member of the ADA, Mississippi Dental Association, and became a Fellow of the American Academy of General Dentistry in 2003, past president of The Southern Academy of Oral Surgery and is certified in Laser Dentistry. He is an active promoter of the arts in Itawamba, on the Tupelo Symphony board of directors, and the president of the Itawamba Symphony Society. George enjoys landscaping in his spare time and is also a devoted follower and supporter of high school sports.
Dr. Doris Marquis
Dr. Doris Marquis graduated as Dr. Doris Baltzer from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1980. Doris is a 1974 graduate of Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa. She is a 2003 Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and a member of the ADA, the Mississippi Dental Association, the American Academy or Orthodontics, and the International Association of Orthodontics. Doris is a voracious reader, a wanna-be writer, avid lover of the arts, and occasional pianist.
The Marquis have raised three children in Itawamba County, all graduates of IAHS. Danielle (IAHS 2001) is a 2006 graduate of Yale University and will graduate from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in 2013. Joseph (IAHS 2003) is a fourth year student on leave from Yale, married to Yan Ting, teaching English and owner of a boutique in Beijing, China. Marie (IAHS 2006) is a senior at Peabody conservatory and Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.
